Happy 2015! To me it feels like the old/new vibe that happens around new years is being extended by this Full Moon in Cancer. It’s a treat (though it may not feel that way) to have extra time to figure out what needs to be cut from your current lifestyle and self. Of course this full moon is powerful. It’s part of a Grand Cardinal Cross (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) it being in Cancer means letting go of emotional crap and attachments of the past. There is much more going on with this moon – it trines Chiron (the wounded healer), it’s opposite Pluto and the Sun, and conjunct Sirius, the dogstar. There’s also a T square between Uranus, Pluto and the nodes.
There’s a strong pull to go into old patterns and karmic gunk while there’s also great astro support to get beyond the past and useless habits. With Chiron and Sirius in the mix you can plug into their energy and take the higher road, even connect to a more elevated consciousness.
Being a visual person I was immediately struck by the image of this full moon – it looks just like a God’s Eye or Ojo de Dios! A crafty symbol that I actually love to make and collect!!! The Ojo de Dios is a ritual tool, magical object and cultural symbol associated with the Huichol Indians of western Mexico. It can also be found in the pueblos of New Mexico. The Indians believe that the eye has the power to heal, protect, and to see and understand unknown things. Cool!
I think this full moon it would be beneficial to visualize being the eye – standing in the center, grounded and seeing it all. Letting go of the emotions, the past, embracing change, knowing you can only control yourself, accepting new power, truly leading the way – your way.
